Oil Leakage...

I have a fairly sizeable leak somewhere between the oil pan and the tranny pan edges. I wanted to know if there was any way to patch it simply at my house for very little money?

ALSO, would this leak contribute at all to a loss in oil pressure?

Just replace the gasket. But no. It won't affect your oil pressure.

Ok, I didn't think it had an effect because my oil pressure problem is related to other things anyway but was worth asking anyway.

Now, as for the gasket. I apologize for sounding stupid, but my mechanic friend moved two provinces away unfortunately. So, which gasket am I replacing? The only gasket I knwo is the head gasket and replacing that was a pain to say the least. Enlighten me friend. Thanks.

What is leaking?
Tranny fluid (red) or engine oil (brown/black)?

Also, make, model and year of car, please............

Oh yeah. A headgasket is a real joy to replace. I've been that route too.

If it's between the engine and the transmission, it might also be a leaking rear main seal. I've never dove into a project like that. But I hear that requires removing the transmission. Your profile says you have a 92 Dodge Spirit, correct?

Indeed. Indeed I do.

I think the leak might be purely cosmetic though because a while back I accidentally hit something and it put a dent in the tranny pan. Shortly after we replaced the head gasket and discovered a small oil leak. I only posted because the leak seems to be bigger now.

If it is the seal, that would not be good. Transmission removal isn't up my alley haha...

As I asked earlier, what is it leaking, engine oil (black/brown) or transmission fluid (red)?
The rear main seal is engine oil, yet you mention the transmission pan.
They leak different fluids, so we cannot advise you on the potential repairs until we determine what component is leaking.
