A- if it's a fuel injected car, pressing the gas pedal shuts off the injectors - no fuel

B - strange flashes are the codes, first one s/b solid, pause, flash flash = 12 'no dist ref', perfectley nomal. This means it's in diagnostic mode, and your cooling fan(s) s/b on. So, you should see 12 three times, then any stored codes afterward. But it sounds as if you have a fuel delivery problem and might not have any (except 12)

I beleive 51 is a MAF problem code. Did you clear the ECM after the repair?

OK, from what I'm uderstanding, 51 refers to the 5V ecm reference out of range on the ECM circuit somewhere and all sensors are set to default. Again, probably something with the MAF circuit, grounded out maybe? How did you fix the wiring?

we have a chiltons cd for the car like i said earler the wires to those relay were in bad shape we cut them back till we had good wire and soldered new wires to the plugs they seem to be working. ther seems to be some confusion on what code 51 is our book says it is bad or improper eprom or computer.

I'm gonna have to let somebody chime in about the soldering aspect of the wiring, something I avoid at all costs. If your cd is year specific, than yes 51 can be a prom failure, but could be because the prom is not in use because everything is in a default mode?

That's my best guess for ya, like I said, somebody else will no doubt chime in if I'm wrong.
