Re: escort cosworth repsol

At a guess I'd say TS-56 Brilliant Orange. It was originally a one off colour for the NSR500, also a Repsol livery.

Welcome to AF.

i initial bought ts-31 bright orange but it dont look right
the other colour i saw was just ornage which it seems to be a better match

how closely do the can lids match the actual colour os the spray??

this is my second tamiya model my first being this focus RS below

after this i got a clarion skyline and a xanavi nismo Z
and a raybrig NSX im making up for lost time getting into this
do modlers normal stock loads of kits at a time or buy as they build??

Sorry to hear that you had problems with the decals on the Escort, I built one of the Repsol Escorts ages ago but I painted the car instead of using the decals so I've got them in my spare decal bank. Where are you located? if you are in the UK send me a pm and we can arrange something. I'll dig out my model and post some pics.

Re: escort cosworth repsol

Hi. Sorry to hear about the accident. How much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking. I've got one still boxed and untouched and I'm thinking of selling it.

Repsol Escort *56k beware*

Well we've got a bit of sun (still bloody cold though ) so I've taken some pics of the Repsol and Martini Escort Cosworth's.
The Repsol Escort had the red and the orange painted on as the decals were a pain in the "neck", being polite here as I don't want to offend anyone, aftermarket photo-etch seat belt hardware and some home made belts, photo-etch bonnet catches and there is also some photo-etch bolt heads on there as well, and the aerial was donated by my pet cat, it's one of her whiskers, it fell out naturally so don't report me to the RSPCA .

The Martini Escort started out as the Repsol version but was changed using an aftermarket sheet made by MERI kits, details include white metal wheels and tarmac spec tyres, photo-etch seat belt hardware and home made belts, photo-etch bonnet catches and some more of those pesky photo-etch bolt heads again, oh and the cat donated another aerial as well .

And a couple of them together,

w90ngy, the decals are in the post so keep an eye open for the posty, now you can have another go at those decals .

The orange that I used on the Repsol Escort was flourescent safety paint out of an aerosol, I just sprayed the paint into an old jam jar then after it had settled for a couple of hours I put it in a small jar and sprayed it with my airbrush, the only thing with this sort of paint that I used it has a very high build quantity to it, so spray light coats if you use it. Another sort of paint you could try is Pactra paints, they are usually used for radio-control cars, I know it's supposed to be for Lexan bodies but it can be painted on "normal" plastic bodies, just use a good plastic primer first. Yes you could use fishing line for aerials but I'm not into fishing so I didn't have any line in my spares box, I do have a cat though that regularly loses whiskers so I save them up and use them instead.

Re: escort cosworth repsol

There are a couple colors you could:
- Testors sells a set of basic enamel paints in flourescent colors, with an orange that might work.

- Testors also makes a flourescent orange and/or red in their Acryl line of paints (I forget which, I can get the numbers later)

- Humbrol has a couple of bright orange and red colors, one of which is used to fill in spots on the 2001 Focus WRC (The orange stripe down the middle).

- Parma's Faskolor R/C paints have some very bright oranges and reds that could work. The paint is basically Createx with a new label (There may or may not be a flex agent added to help it adhere to the flexible Lexan) so that could work as well. It's very thick, and dries flat, so you have to cover it with a gloss coat.

Re: escort cosworth repsol

gpz900ra7 you should post those pics under their own threads in the Completed/In-Progress section. They'd get more exposure and comments there.

And how come every image has a link to image shack?
