Best Tires For Rav 4

Hi, guys,
I am new to forum, and looking forward to get to know other members and my to learn more about my SUV
Well, big question is here: time to change all my tires. I got about 27,000 miles, and I was told that my tires need to be changed ( due to the poor quality of original tires, Bridgestone)
Please, dont kill me here if you are the above brand fan. I am a female and know nothing about tires.
The big question is which tires to go with this time: the size is standard for RAV 4 215/70R16. Is it goodrich, continental or bridestone, again.
I don't think I was happy with the last brand, but, again, I need your input on this one. I live in NC and I need slit and snow security.
I am not planning on buying Micheline tires, but can you advice from the above?

THANKS A LOT.
Bonita.
PLease, help me ASAP.

Re: Best Tires For Rav 4

I have a Rav4 too with Bridgestone tires. Simply put, they are a piece of shit. They are loud, hard, and are just an all around horrible tire. They were not as bad when I first bought the car, but now after right around 25,000 miles, I have had it with them. Mine have a good amount of tread left on them, but I'm sick of them.

I'd be interested in some suggestions too!

Just saw this thread. I bought Yokohama Geolanders in the standard size from Tire Rack when the original Dunlops on my manual 97 RAV wore out at about 50,000 miles. The difference in feel was stunning. I've never felt unstable in the wet or in snow. I'm now at 70,000 miles and there is very little apparent wear. I recommend researching the Tire Rack web site for current performance reviews and prices. Ray

rav4 tires

I have been researching the right tires for replacing the factory ones...which were horrible...bridgestone. I found tirerack.com to be very helpful. They recommended bridgestone dueler h/l alenza as a good brand especially being in californina, snow is not much of an issue for me. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Re: Best Tires For Rav 4

Granted I currently drive a Jeep but I have always used good year tires and highly recommend looking at some of there models!

I currently have 4 of the fortura tires with the added armor. "You may not need that exact model" but they have I believe 3-4 diffrent fortura lines and all have a good 50-75,000 mile tread life.

The downside is they are not that cheap so in the end its all personal preference but don't leave out good year tires in general.

Re: Best Tires For Rav 4

I have a 2002 Rave 4 I drive like a maniac and I am definitly an agressive driver. I put a set of Michelin HydroEdge tires on the car and love them. I get great gas milage and the car sticks to the curves. I drive both interstate and back country roads everyday to work. These tires really do the job. They are great on both wet and dry roads, go good in the snow too.If I did not like them I would have taken them off the first day. I will buy another set when needed!

I am looking for tires also. I live in the greater Chicagoland area.
I can't afford an entire new set. I know I should buy the set but money talks and I can barely whisper. Any help/suggestion is appreciated

Re: Best Tires For Rav 4

Put a set of Continental Cross Contact LX's on the wifes '99 Rav4. A little noisier than I would have liked. But the price was right and they show no wear after 10k mi.

Re: Best Tires For Rav 4

Hey, I'm new too. I purchased some tires that are an off shoot of Toyo. I geuss they make generics like every one else.lol! They are called MIRADA. It's been almost 4 years and I don't have any complaints. They are 235/60r16 and they are "H" rated. I got them through www.mavistire.com, or maybe it was just mavis.com... I can't remember too well. One of them will get you there. They were on sale and I payed a little over $300.00 for five tires, plus shipping and handling. At the time, I was working in a dealership so installing them was on me. Still got them even after dropping my little hoopty down an inch and a half. Again, no complaint yet with those tires. You just got to keep up with alignments and tire pressures to get full life out of tires.
