Need help and suggestion about my power cable fuse

I am fond of listening to a loud muzic because it gives me great satisfaction but unfortunately the fuse on my power supply line keeps on blasting.

At present, my amplifier rating is 150 rms 2 channel, and i hookup two 400watts nominal per ch. I used 30 & 40 Ampere fuse on the power cable.

if i try boosting all the settings including the equalizer, BBE ..."BOOM!" fuse is gone on the power cable near the battery. thanks in advance

Re: Question ( Power Rating )

What type of amp are you using? Have you checked your wiring for shorts?

Re: Question ( Power Rating )

Are you still runnig the 6x9's and the sub off one amp? Are you noticing the amp going into protection?

I would run the highes of the hu for now until you can get another amp.

I have separate amp for 6x9 now, just two subs i hookup to GM-X924 amp. Yes I was noticing the amp going into protection but after a while it will work again, now my problem is the fuse near the batery alway blasting. I'm planing to put 50ampers or 60amp, but i think my Amplifier is no safe for this rated of fuse.

You really wanna ffind out what is causing the fuse to blow because getting a larger fuse will only allow more unwanted current to get to the amp and possibly blow it. I would say first to check all wiring starting at the battery and follow it all the way to your amp.

Hot? hot is normal, My Amp have no Bass boost, but the gain, I set into maximum level, I dono if it is right to put the gain level into maximum, and also the setting from my HU is in high level / equalizer / BBE / Sub level. My HU is DEH-P8650MP - Sub output is 6.5V

Re: Question ( Power Rating )

your clipping your amp, your powersupply is over drawing causeing the weakest fuse in the line to blow overlading the 2nd causing it to blow...learn to set your gains and EQ's excetera and then come abck and ask. BCAE1.com.

Hot is not normal, at least not normally
Very few amps actually do run hot in normal operation, most amps should be warm to the touch but not hot.

You still haven't said what subs you have or how they're wired, but it sounds like you're clipping the hell out of the amp causing it to draw WAY more current than it should (blowing the fuse) and causing it to go into thermal protection. The gain should definitely NOT be at maximum, especially not with 6.5V preouts, it should be somewhere between minimum and maybe 1/4 turn at the highest.

This is the specs of my amp and I hookup two 12'' TS-W306SVC 400 nominal input didn't mention if it's RMS I think this is the same. Now I put 60 ampeers fuse but may be my Amp is not safe wiht 60amppers fuse?

Re: Question ( Power Rating )

Im guessing you have the subs wired in parallel on one of the bridged channels?

The amp claims to be 1ohm stable but it has no power ratings for 1ohm, which is a little weird. Anyway, if it's 1ohm stereo stable, it's 2ohm bridged stable. If those subs are single 4ohm then you're alright, if they're single 2ohm then you'll need to wire them in series, not parallel.

I think the problem is you're clipping the hell out of the amp though.
