86 Cavalier transmission connector

I sold an 86 Cavalier to a friend. Sometimes it will not crank unless you wiggle the connector at the transmission. I unplugged the connector and tried to clean it, it looks like 2 of the contacts may be slightly burned. I think it was the purple wire for the starter interlock.
What is the best way to fix this? I don't really want to bypass the starter interlock.
