Re: Blow Off Valve
No, there isnt anywhere any pressure is building enough to power a BOV. Remember, a BOV isnt there for the sound, its there to relieve pressure. If you just want the sound they make a speaker system you can put in than runs on a vacuum and senses when you shift to make the noise.

Re: Blow Off Valve

why would you want the sound of a turbo....get the damn turbo set up if you want the sound. I hate those stupid ass speaker systems that make kids think that their cars are cool....you're not! Its not done yet, but read... http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=490574

Re: Blow Off Valve
you can boost ANYTHING! absolutely any engine can be boosted......it just may cost a lot....
A cavalier shouldn't cost much more than any Honda turbo build....

Re: Blow Off Valve
Step one, don't go to everyday shops for your upgrades..
Step two, if there is no tuner shops around, do it yourself. Step three, don't be fake/ricer/anything else. Step four, What the hell kind of question is that?

Also, GM makes a supercharger kit for the motor because it CAN safely handle the boost. I'm a bigger fan of supercharging because its easier to do on a daily-driven car and because on the Twin Cam I've heard horror stories of the heat from the turbo frying out shift linkages in manual trannys. Your call, though.

![]() Oh my FUCKING god, you made my day starting this thread! I agree, dont take your car to a mechanic for upgrades or opinions, they generally dont know shit. I would do it yourself, unless your not mechanically inclined, then take it to a specialty shop. Oh man....

Re: Blow Off Valve
You need to read and learn....you can't just boost your car. That guy probably didn't think you were serious and didn't want to talk about it w/ you. You can boost a Cavalier. I would rather boost than sc personally because a supercharger is really limited on its potential compared to a turbo. It is a lot easier install tho. I'm doing a turbo write up in the Honda Section and i'll post it in here when i'm done so that people like you can read and learn.
As soon as you have a full understanding of how the whole system works, you can find ways to make it more affordable and then you can do it yourself.
