Its Gabbo... Gabbo... Gabbo Is Coming

Ok all you simpsons nuts, sorry, but there will be no Gabbo but I am going to be taking delivery of a pristine 1993 3000GT VR4... One owner an OBGYN (commence with the jokes now), everything has been done at the dealership new tranny only like 10K ago, 60K tune up was done, on time everything but new plugs and wires. This thing has been babied new seals just this year in the drive train due to drying out and leaking. It is a beauty and I will be flying down on the 16th of this month to pick it up. Rear bumper repainted due to patient backing into the car, new door skin for same reason, these were like in 98 I think. It is a Mississippi car, northern so no flood damage or hurricane, trust me I checked, also that means no snow or salt...

Pics are here:
MY 1993 3000GT VR4

If someone wants they can post them in here but it would not let me.

Can we say let the modding begin, first thing this car is getting is all the aluminum polished under the hood and a 99 front end conversion. can you believe the Mrs. is letting me get this and wants to help customize it? Tell me what you think...

Yeah, looks good. Congrats. But before you even think of the front end conversion...do the free boost mod!

Free boost mod of course, but I will also be putting in new plugs and wires and I was wondering what the gap should be since I am going from like 9psi to 14psi boost? I was planning on a set of iridium plugs and some 8.0 or 8.5mm wires

Re: Its Gabbo... Gabbo... Gabbo Is Coming

Go copper. Cheaper and better for boost. The only issue is you have to change them every 10k. But once you do it one or 2 times, it only takes a half hour or less.
I'd start with .36 gap because even with the free boost mod you'll only be at like 12psi. When you get a boost controller and start running 14ish, then you should lower it to .32 or .28, of course if you are getting spark blowout, adjust as needed. Just my .02

looks great! i'm partial to, but love the 1st gens, 93 in particular for the upgraded internals (1st year they did it) and the 25 spline tranny. gotta love the pop-ups!

hey, you need to paint that black strip on the bumper white to match the rest of the car. other than that, have at her and have fun!

Re: Its Gabbo... Gabbo... Gabbo Is Coming

Yeah starting out I am going to paint the mustache and then have the local metal polishing/plating companies give me estimates on polishing and plating as much under the hood as they can. I fully support 3sx but I see no reason to pay extra for polishing if i can get it locally and avoid shipping and core exchange. Then I will of course buy the rest of my under hood dress up from 3sx. As well I am going to do a custom interior and get this car more show worthy than it is already... I cant wait for the 11 hour drive home... wierd isnt it, when someone wants to drive for 11 hours, but it is a VR4

Re: Its Gabbo... Gabbo... Gabbo Is Coming

oh, and a great addition to white cars, IMO, is a carbon fiber hood. and black/gunmetal/dark rims. but you already have those pretty-looking chromes. if you ever decide to go with some other darker rims, gimme a holla about ur chromes

Re: Its Gabbo... Gabbo... Gabbo Is Coming

I plan on getting some new rims somewhere down the road and will definetily give up the chromes at a really reasonable price
