Question 93 Riv code 22 and 41 need help

Service engine light comes on when driving and this is how it acts, highway speed feels like it goes into passing gear from overdrive RPM's increase from around 1700 to 2500 sometimes almost 3000. then it go,es back into overdrive, sometimes it won't. and sometimes the idle wont come down when you stop it. The service engine light comes on and off and sometimes it stays lite. When you disconnect the battery cable and reset the codes it may run fine for awhile maybe 6 miles or 3days. the two codes that come up are eo022 and eo041. Do you think I need a new TPS sensor or what? Please help i would hate to taken to the cleaners if I take to a shop!!!!!

this is a 3.8 none turbo.

It really sounds like the TPS is burn't. Check to make sure you have a good connection first to the sensor. not sure how expensive that sensor is, but it is avery simple job to put in. No need to bring it in a shop. simply unplug the connector and use a wrench to remove sensor.
