Mallory & Pertronix

I recently purchased a '66 Mustang coupe with a 289 and a few performance parts. The distributor is an aftermarket Mallory unit. The problem is that it is dual points and I have been told that these are a pain to adjust. I adjust single points without a problem, so are the dual points really that bad? I have been looking into a Pertronix Ignitor unit for it. I haven't found one that specifically states that it will work on an aftermarket dual point setup, but do you guys know if one will work? I would really like to add an electronic ignition to the billet distributor if possible, and not junk it. Also, the motor has just been rebuilt(supposedly) so it has not been fired. Therefore I cannot fool with the points yet. It is a "cross your fingers" kind of a deal when the key turns over. Thank you guys in advance.
