Question ABS light on and Pos. traction wont work now

I originally had a problem with one of my fog lights out on my 2001 Mustang and didnt have the owners manual. I tried taking some of the fuses out in the fuse box under the hood to check them and ever since then, the ABS ligth stays on and my pos. traction control won't work now. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this and to fix the fog light situation? Jrome

Your question is kind of confusing. Why were you pulling fuses to correct a fog light that wasn't working? First go back and check that all of the fuses are functional. Did you mean posi trac(as in limited slip) or did you intend traction contol? The abs and posi trac have nothing to due with each other, posi trac is purely mechanical, however if the clutches in the diff have excessive wear the material may be stuck to the abs speed sensor in the diff housing, location will depend on year of car, if you have a disc rear car the speed sensor will more than likely be by the tone rings by the brake discs but if the sensor is toward the center of the diff simply drain an clean then remove the sensor and clean it. Make sure to use ford ltd slip additive when refilling the diff.

Re: ABS light on and Pos. traction wont work now

I think he means the trac button won't turn on and off.
the abs light is on on mine as well the trac button is not responding. Hooking up the scanner to read abs code's and I get a bad link or fuse out error on scanner but it will read engine and airbag just no abs.... strange.
