My 4x4 is not working properly

i just bought 2000 blazer LS i love it but when i put it in 4hi it dont engage & it kicks back to 2hi but when i put it into 4lo it works so if anyone have an idea please let me know hopefully its not that big of an issue

The answer to this has been posted many times. (Use the search function)

Step 1: Pull the battery tray and look at the vac actuator. Check for tears or leaks. If found replace.

Step 2: Check your vac hoses leading from the actuator to the vac switch on top of the transfer case as well as the other 2 hoses leading to/from that switch. Check for dry rot and cracks. If found, replace.

Step 3: If the above is ok, then it will either be your vac switch on the transfer case or the encoder motor.
