99 Cougar Spark Plug Gap
I have been having alot of trouble with my 99. It does not run well at low idle and misfires at about 2500 rpm's.
I started with the O2 sensors. I replaced two and found by this forum that there is 4. However, the codes do not show any additional problems with the O2 sensors. I have also replaced the coil pack, plug wires and plugs. The engine light is still coming on and at a constant mph (50-60 mph), the engine light flashes which means misfire. The other codes show a high limit on the IAT. This is what led me to replacing the coil pack. So far nothing seems to help. I also replaced the fuel filter. I then noticed on this forum that the plug gap is 44, not 54 as stated in the manual. Can anyone confirm this? Would that cause the misfire issue? |
