Project: Cali JDM CRX progress pics

I finally got my Integras in on Friday after over 3 months of waiting after the first ones got stolen thanks to FedEx, I wasted no time on getting the conversion done to the CRX.....

I grafted the entire front clip including the windshield frame of the Integra the the CRX body, it was a pain in the ass, especially the Mugen bodykit, which is a seperate piece from the body of the integra, it was supposed the fit over the factory integra bumper, but I didnt like the way it looked, so I chopped it to fit the mugen bumper correctly...

I swapped the Revell Integra rear end for the Fujim Integra rearend so it would match.... The Integra front end was a lil wider than the CRX body so I had the configure the front end to overlap the CRX body which meant I also had to change the rear or else the car would look disfigured, in turn I also had to add a shitload of putty to the CRX body to blend it in with the Integra front and rear end...... PAIN IN THE ASS!!!

The revell rearend that I had originally put on...

...... And somehow I managed to find time to make an intercooler(while waiting for all the damned putty to dry)..

That's some Kraaaazy shit! i personally prefer the revell integra rear end. Now what are the plans for the rest of the pieces of body lying around? a crx with a integra front and rear?

Well beside it being a CRX with JDM Integra front and rear end, Im also putting in some of the interior components from the Integra into the CRX. Ive grafted the gauge cluster of the Fujimi Integra to the dash of the CRX(I switched from the revell guage cluster also cuz the fujimi one looks alot better), Ive also molded the entire center console(i.e. armrest, e-brake, shift knob) from the revell integra. I fabricated a 6 point rollbar, and also the recaros form the fujimi kit.......

Ill post a pic of the redone dash soon.....

Nothing drastic, had the remove and re-attatch the entire front because it wasnt aligned which was a pain in the arse, but most of the body is done now....

Finally got the body smoothed out, doorlines have been carved into the dried putty, also took the time to add the lower side panels of the Mugen Integra onto the CRX, all that is is left is to carve the panel lines in to match the integra front fenders...

Here's a sideview to better show the door lines, It still needs a bit of detailing but it can wait til the panels lines are done, I also finally got the rear wheelwells sanded to look proportionate to the front(they were too small).......

Had to redo and shape the front door bars on the roll cage to fit the recaro seats fron the Integra....

I also redid the dash, before it had the guage cluster from the revell integra, now it has the gauge cluster from the fujimi kit....

Heres a couple pix of the test fitted interior with the new rollcage, the recaros now fit perfectly...

I cant wait to finish this kit already, but the process is hella slow but hopefully It will be done in the next month, lol.........

Later,
PAT

i think jdm stands for Japanese Domestic Market. cars in japan usually look a bit different there than the ones that they ship to north america, usually the headlights and taillights. like the integra for example, the latest generation model has headlights similar to the previous one, whereas the newest generation one in north america and elsewhere has the four seperate circular bulbs. IMO, all cars look better as they appear stock in japan compared to what is changed when they are shipped internationally. i guess it has to do with the automotive standards of each country and what changes need to be made to meet those standards. I've got it narrowed down to 3 color schemes; Light Gunmetal, Silver Metallic mixed with a slight Titanium gold hue, or Transparent Midnight Blue over Black Pearl(like RJ Vera's S2000 as it appeared in Super Street magazine)........

And here's the rims I'm considering

I really want some Mugen MF8/MF10's but the only kit ive seen them for is the Tamiya S2000 type V. I wish I new someone who could possibly fabricate some resin ones for me in maybe a 17 or 18 inch scale. Or maybe I can pull a fast one on Tamiya and "lose" a set and get them to send some replacements...... I havent gotten in my S2000 type V kit in the mail yet, has anyone gotten this kit? If so, what size are the wheels?

The MF-10 are the same size as the 5 spoke rims that came with your Mugen ITR
