No fan..

Hello...

My wife's car is a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix.

She gradually lost all of her fan settings to the fan... with the last being 4 which died a week ago.

From what I've read, it seems this may possibly be a bad resistor relay? if so, how difficult would it be for me to replace?

Troubleshooting or replacing the blower motor resistor or fan is not that difficult. High probability it is the resistor. But to be sure it's always a good idea to bench test the blower motor by jumping 12 volts to it just to make sure if its OK. If blower turns its probably a resistor.

Here's a pic with the blower motor removed and to the back is the resistor. This is applicable only if you have a manual control HVAC system and not the digital climate control.

There are 3 bolts that hold the blower motor up to the housing. Good luck!
