Re: 2003 ltd maintance light on

Well I just bought a 2003 limited 4runner a week ago, however the previous owner was nice enough to email me how to do this because he couldn't find the article when I picked it up.... it goes as follows.

Reset Procedure
Service Maintenance Reminder Light

1) Turn the ignition switch to "ON".
2) Turn the Odometer /Tripmeter to "ODO" mode.
(as explained in your operator's manual)
3) Turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position.
4) Press down and hold the Tripmeter reset button while turning the ignition
switch to the "ON" position.
5) The Service Maintenance Reminder Light will:
a) light up solidly for 3 seconds.
b) blink for 2 seconds.
c) light up solidly for 1 second.
d) turn off.
6) Release the Tripmeter reset button.
7) Turn the ignition to the "OFF" position.
8) Turn the ignition to the "ON" position and confirm that the SMR light goes out.

Note: If the SMR light keeps blinking in step 5a, turn the ignition off and start the
procedure again from step 1.
