wiring question, please help
Hello,
I wanted to change my blinker lights to park lights and park lights to blinker lights. All I did was cut the wires going to each and splice them into the other. So now when I turn an my blinker the power goes to the park lights and vice versa. I have it all done but my blinkers are blinking super fast. The hazard lights work fine though. All my bulbs are working too. Does anybody have any idea why my blinkers would blink so fast. Thanks. |

Re: wiring question, please help
Parking lights are typically lower wattage bulbs than blinker lights. That is probably the reason. I bet you now have very bright parking lights. I don't understand why it didn't affect the hazard lights. The bulbs will not interchange on my truck. Also consider that you are losing the side marker lights with your change. To verify my thoughts temporarily switch them back, I think they will be OK. That would prove the bulbs are the problem.

Re: wiring question, please help
the parking lite filament of that bulb has a lower wattage, therefore less resistance which makes the blinker faster. would be the same affect if you ran l.e.d. bulbs which have practically no resistance. solution would be to change the flasher.
