fill the big one to the top. put 3/5ths into the small one. empty out the small one. (you had 2 left in the big one). dump the leftovers into the small one so you have 2/3rds full. now fill up the big one again and pour from it 1/5th into the small one. you have 4/5ths left. TADA.

hmmm I went the other way around. Filled the small one, and poured into big one. Filled again, and poured into the big one - which leaves 1 in the small one. Empty the big one, and pour the 1 into the big one. Then fill the small one again, and pour into the big one.
