I've always wondered, do they still produce trucks like these, and if so, are they good trucks; do they get good gas mileage, etc.?

No, That model Econoline (van or pickup) were likely the most dangerous vehicles ever made. Your legs sat out by the front bumper protected by a layer of sheet metal and the engine compartment divided the cab area in half. They were cool looking and fun to drive and inspired the "mystery machine" (for all you Scooby Doo fans). I would love to have one to play with though.
