SSQV question

Is this bov a real hks ssqv bov or is it a cheap knockoff... and would it have the same high pitch release as a real one? also how do you recirculate this bov back into the intake pipe?

I'm thinking knockoff because I've never heard of JDM HKS. I would just stick to non-Ebay for a bov purchase.

looks real even has the filter, and the seller has alot off feedback.
the reason I wont get it from that seller is because of the crappy description of the product.

oh wait, its also $80 lol run away from that one

I believe this is the seller I got my SSQ

4g63 man... does yer ssqv sound really high pitched and nice? cuz i love that sound! And what did you do to compensate for the rough idle and richness of the mixture due to the venting?

umm..don't vent

but if you must go GM MAFT and etc., or fabricate a metal recirculation tube, it will be just as loud

Re: SSQV question

5Zigen style, GReddy type....the "style" and "type" are big give-aways on the fact that they are knock-offs, but they legally have their asses covered since they never implied that their merchandise was original 5Zigen or what have you. Beware! EBay is awesome, but some people will pull that shit. You just have to be ahead of the game

I can tell you. I use photoshop a lot. It looks like he has 2 layers - one with the gauges, and then the car in another layer below it. Just lower the opacity of the gauges layer to like 30% ish and viola(sp?) lol.

Re: SSQV question

The HKS SSQV doesn't have a universal fit. I had to custom fabricate mine on to the GReddy Intercooler piping. Also there are some subtle differences in the shape that would make me say that it's a knock off.

Re: SSQV question

Shpyder signature is this:

Background layer: His car
Layer 1 (or on the BG layer): A black to 100% Opacity gradient
Layer 2: Gauges set to 20-40% opacity. May have a Gaussian blur over it too, about 1-3 pixels, but that depends on the actual picture that was taken.

Re: SSQV question

Yeah, it's a knockoff. But that doesn't automatically mean it's crap. I have yet to see a test done on any of these knockoff BOVs. But it's less than 1/3 the price of a new real one so you could give it a try and it wont brake your bank.
