Rabbits chewed up F8CE-AE car part for 1998 Mercury Tracer (Ford Escort)
Rabbits chewed up F8CE-AE car part for 1998 Mercury Tracer (Ford Escort) where do I find a replacement?
Moved from Texas to Colorado year and half ago. Recently my car wouldn't start (just in the past two days). I went out this morning, popped the hood, and there was a rabbit bigger than football sitting on top of my battery. Looking around I could gather that during the cold weather rabbits have started crawling up in my engine and chewing things up! Looks like the main thing affected is part F8CE-AE, but I can't find a replacement anywhere online. Any suggestions on where to find a replacement? Also, any suggestions for keeping rabbits out of engines? |

What is it you need? Part number doesn't mean much to most of us. Is it a relay, cable or what?

The dealer parts counter may help you in identifying the part you need. Local animal control or a pet store may be able to help you with rabbit repellant.

Re: Rabbits chewed up F8CE-AE car part for 1998 Mercury Tracer (Ford Escort)
Your part number is missing the basic number is the center. Example: F8CZ-9002-AE. That number you posted is also the engineering number as well. Ford and their wisdom uses two sets of numbers for every part they make. A part number and a engineering number. Makes you wonder what is going on in the mastermind department. Anyway the nice thing about Ford part numbers is that the center number (the basic part number) is the same for every Ford/Mercury/Lincoln part made. 9002 is the basic number for a fuel tank, no matter if it is a Fiesta or a LTL9000 big rig. 8005 for a radiator and etc, etc, etc. Your F8CE-AE number will probably end up being a F8CZ-?????-AB or something like that. The basic number is on the part that you looked at and may be under the number you listed. Example F8CE-AE
