1ggteu intercooler upgrade

how hard is it to install a bigger intercooler in this engine? i plan to run bout 12-13 psi stock (exept IC, f-con, boost con will be installed).

every1 says that with those upgrades, this engine will take it easy, but the turbos will struggle after a while.

any1 know facts on this topic???

It's not hard at all, the IC install is virtually the same as any other Supra intercooler. What kind of IC kit are you getting? ARC makes a VERY nice GA70/GZ20 IC kit with hardpipes, couplers, BOV, and of coarse one of the most efficient intercoolers made, that's what I have. Lots of other options too, especially down where you are. Before you put on the F-CON I would do a full exhaust and intake system too, open up the engine and let the turbos breath easier. What kind of struggling are you talking about? With those mods you won't have any, still a good bit of lag but it'll be alot more fun to drive. Just don't over do it, stay below 15psi or so.
Really, is it so hard to type out one and maybe even throw a few capitalizations in a sentence.

Re: 1ggteu intercooler upgrade

by struggling i mean that the turbos will not be able to handle the new conditions for a long time. someone is installing his 3rd set of turbos, but i think he is running 17psi.

"Really, is it so hard to type out one and maybe even throw a few capitalizations in a sentence". what are you refuring to?

thx

Well what do you mean by a long period of time, almost everyones definition will be different. Of coarse when you boost the power you are going to break parts and shorten the life of parts, the question is how much will break and how much life is lost. There are just too many variables to know for sure why his turbos are failing, probably his higher boost, could be the turbos are 15+ years old, could be the way he drives, ect ect.

I'm not trying to insult you,but I should not have to explain what I was referring to. It really shouldn't concern me how you type or talk anyway.

Hay there and how did you get on with ur intercooler job? I have a mk3 with large intercooler and run 13 psi daily and has done well for quite some time. I also have a ssq valve to.. The turbos do so much which still kickass and the fuelline/pump n injectors just make the piston's get a bit more ontop of what turbo is forcing in and appear to scream after spirled up and are very great with a large front mount for less stress on turbos and with a bigger exhaust system is getting more pressure out... I have always wondered the high reving on the small twins is real rough and wanting to upgrade to a 1jzgte for bigger comressor wheels and further latteron have a T4 single to try out...

.plus when I ran 17 psi I loved it but thought she would run for 5 months and kill my engine so put it back down after I tock down a evo 5 dam he spewed .. I have always wondered the high reving on the small twins is real rough and wanting to upgrade to a 1jzgte for bigger comressor wheels and further latteron have a T4 single to try out. which will be a buzz
