Slowboys Act 2600

The stocker is no longer liking the power and is starting to slip. Looking on sbr's site they have 15% off Act's cluctches right now. Question is... They sell a 4 puck, 6puck, and street disc. What is the difference... good and bad of each... Let me know, Thanks

Re: Slowboys Act 2600

Puck clutches are really only good for race cars. With extended use they are famous for taking the splines of input shafts, snapping input shafts, and other expensive damage. Many poeple install a pucked clutch and shoot gears out the side of the case within a week, especially unsprung units.

All that being said, I highly recomend a street disc for anything under 500 whp and reasonable weight. Over that and you may need to start taking some drivetrain risks to keep holding the power, or just go up further on clamping force to the 2900 or 3200. Actually, with FWD, you can be a little more sure that a 2600 with a street disc is all you will need, since the tires will let go before the clutch starts to slip.

Re: Slowboys Act 2600

I could be wrong but you describe you had your head shaved. Usually shaving head means higher compression. But on are turbo cars lower the compression means better for more boost, which means buying a thicker head gasket and not shaving the head.
