maybe a 1/4 of a quart to a half quart deppending on how hard you run it. but if you had one quart then you really should keep an eye on your oil consumption. check the level when the engine is cold at least once a week or once every two weeks.
and for god's sake change your own oil man. those guys at the corner shops slap on the worst possible filters and the crappiest oils they can get. you might as well lubricate the cylinders with cooking grease.

YOU FRIGGING IDIOT! the containers into which you drain your oil have a measure scale right on the side. they sell at autozone for like 5 bucks and change.

I always see how low I was when I do my oil changes.

Now go back to your cage and be a good monkey!

If I still had my old Talon I wouldnt care where I took it but the 6G72 is a costly engine to maintain. These cars can take alot of abuse and can last you a long time but the oil is something that is cruscial. If you use a top quality oil and a good filter then you can run the hell out of them and not worry about it.

I use royal purpule 10w40 and K&N oil filter, no additives, no extra treatments. I just took the heads off last month and I was blown away from how clean they where. 150K miles and the top of those pistons looked like they just got put in.
on the other hand I took my starion's engine appart last summer with 95K miles and it was a mess. ressidue and gunk built up all over. the bottom of the heads looked like they had just gone mudding.
I used castrol gtx and cheap filters on the starion.

Re: same 'ol sob story....

just an fyi, walmart will use any kind of oil you want, ditto on the filter. It may cost a little more if you want a better filter, but the you can pick whatever oil you want for the same price.

Since I no longer have a place to change my own oil (college), I buy my own oil and filter and take it to a local dealer. They only charge me $10 labor, and they use whatever I give them. I don't have to worry about the old oil, and it's relatively cheap to use quality stuff. I use the Mobil 5w30 5,000 mile oil and a Purolator Pure1 filter. All together, it only costs me about $22 for an oil change, which is what the average is when taking it to a shop or dealer and having them use their shit.

Re: same 'ol sob story....

Get on the pavement, get under your car and start looking for oil leaks...that is WAY too much to be losing, and if you continue to run it that dry, you will spin a bearing and/or do significant damage to your engine.
