Change is finally coming

Ok well the new admin is finally at the stage where he's going to overhaul the forums on the site. And that includes the Eclipse section, so i've taken your ideas and put them in the appropriate recommendation spot and any day within the next week or two we'll have a new subforum and name changes to the current sub forums. Also with these changes will have to come a few new rules, i just thought i would let you all know.


After this a new mod should be appointed shortly.

Here's the changes that were posted by me, i couldn't convince justify a classified section because there's already a massive classifieds section on AF.

- - Eclipse/Talon/Laser
- - - - Performance(Needs to be changed to "Testing and Tuning")
- - - - Non-Performance(Needs to be changed to "Product Evaluation")
- - - - Problem Diagnosis(Needs to be Changed to "Off Topic DSM Discussion")
- - - - DSM Videos(New Section)
- - - - AF Project Eclipse

Why are we changing the names of the sub-forums? I thought we just wanted the main forum thrown into an off-topic sub-forum? I'm lost as to why the changes are what they are.

I agree, changing the names would be kinda pointless, then EVERYONE will be posting in the wrong spot! I had the impression that maybe 1 or 2 extra subforums would be added!!

Is their still going to be a "main" forum??

I'm not too fond of the changes. The problem diagnoses should change. Shit, we drive DSM's, that's a no-brainer. Product evaluation doesn't seem like it as a point either. There are tons of reviews out there for products for DSMs on the main DSM sites.

i agree with crunchy...i don't think the names that they are going to be changed to would just make things even more screwed up. we should keep the sub-forums we have, but just add a few. something more or less on the lines of team2g/dsmtalk/dsmtuners. for example:

non-turbo
>>performance
>>problem diagnosis

turbo
>>performance
>>problem diagnosis

off-topic
>>videos

the non-turbo, turbo, and ot would be the main forums and then under each of the main forums we could have sub-forums. just my

This might sound dumb, but, you can create as many sub-forums as you would like but as long as there is a "main" forum page, everyone will still post there!

Also when you want to search for previous threads, you have to search for in each sub-forum, which is annoying!

If the administration were to give us just one main page, I wouldn't object!

I don't think it is necessary to split into separate main forums and by turbo/NT.

I 3rd Crunchy's idea. I do think we should have a classifieds section here, but I didnt know there already was a classifieds section. I think it would be better to have it here so all the DSM stuff is here.
