check engine light

ok guys i have a 2003.5 mazdaspeed protege.... my problem is every time i floor the car in 1st the battery light comes on for a split second and sometimes i get a bit of a lag and then my check endine light comes on and it stays on for a day or 2..could yall tell me what the problem might be

I suggest getting the engine light code read.
