1986 Celica radio

Can anyone tell me how to remove the old radio from a 1986 Toyota Celica? I can't seem to figure out how to get the black "bracket" off that surrounds the radio!

to get to the radio u need to remove the 12mm bolt on the glove compartment, remove all the screws around the center console and the console with the radio and heater controls and remove the entire console assembly. after u get the consoles off, the radio has 4 bronze screws(2 on each side) and disconect it from the harness. Its pretty easy, I've taken the interior apart on my 86 about 20 times and it doesn't really take long if u know where all the screws are. hope this helps.

Re: 1986 Celica radio

Thanks so much! I thought after looking at it that might be the way. After some tugging, it came loose and I was able to put in the new radio.
Thanks again.
