Blazer audio

Ok, I am not a stereo person. I love music but do not know a thing about speakers/amps. I found the cd player I wanted (has input for my dell jukebox) but I need an amp and some speakers for the back for personal enjoyment. Looking around on ebay I found this set

http://cgi.ebay.com/1600W-AMP-2-AUDI...QQcmdZViewItem

Is this total crap?

Would it sound good enough for my enjoyment?

Any recommendations? I am not a rich person but can afford maybe $500ish but would like top be as cheap as I could without getting crap.

http://cgi.ebay.com/TWO-AUDIOBAHN-AW...QQcmdZViewItem

maybe something like that?

Re: Blazer audio

Well I am not going for obnoxious loud, just for personal enjoyment. If that is too loud I do not want. I just thought it was cheap. $265 shipped. Anyone else know about this product? Or something like it?

Re: Blazer audio

You will enjoy. Go for the 10s then if 12s are too loud. There audiobahns and the loud amp 1600w helps a ton.

Like you I didn't need to break windows (though this one can rattle them a bit)... Jl Audio stealth box... Keeps your cargo area free, people don't notice that it's back there (hence STEALTHBOX). It uses a W1-V2 woofer and sounds incredible...

So I guess that you wouldn't like something like this:

If you're just looking for something to add deep bass to your music without over powering it, you might want to consider a bass tube. I used to have a bazooka tube years ago and although it wouldn't win any competitions, it did do a great job of filling the low range void.

Re: Blazer audio

The bass tube you suggested says amplified so I am assuming it does not need and external amp? It is built with one?

Rlith, where can I look up info on the Stealthbox? Could not find on on ebay for my truck.

Thanks

ok, if you want my opinion, those subs arent great and that amp is garbage. my shop sells audiobahn, and its all loud no sq. go for like one 10" mtx 7500, and a small mtx amp. besides, all that neon looks soo tacky and the chrome is corny.

Yeah, most of them include the amp. I posted a link to that one as an example, you can get different brands, different sizes, etc. The audiobahn subs add a lot of bass to a system. My brother has one audiobahn 10 in the trunk of his Honda Civic and it adds more bass than the casual listener would ever need.

I thought that the one in the link would be a good choice for you because it's a low priced all in one package, that doesn't need a lot of room, and you can turn it up to suit your needs.

Man those stealth boxes are awesome!! #1 Where do i get'em. #2 Watcha pay 4'em. #3 will they work 4 both sides. Cause my Cerwin Vega takes up more than half of my cargo space. And i just need to do som thin about it. and that looks perfect.

I work in car audio, and I'm going to have to agree with Gorgon on this one. Audiobahn subs are all flashy looks and loud bass, but if it's good sound you're looking for go another direction. I'd suggest something like MTX, JL Audio, Diamond. Those are among some of the dedicated companies that not only build a solid, great sounding product, they do not mislead the average consumer with bogus "Max Power" or "Peak Power" ratings, which are fake, untested numbers that mean absolutely nothing and are usually ridiculously far above the equipments actual RMS or "continual" rating - which is the actual power the amp produces or the sub handles.

Never go by "Max" or "Peak" power. There have been measures taken in the industry recently to help stamp out those ratings altogether, because they are bogus. They are not real and they mean nothing, they are there simply to mislead the uninformed customer.
