LCD Radio Display Still Not Working
I recently ordered a HVAC Control Head and Radio (CD Player) from a salvage place for my 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. The HVAC Control Head works fine so far. With the radio, I still have the same problem. I purchased a new radio due to the LCD not being displayed all the time. With the new one, the radio and CD player works (I did not have to get a code from the dealer) but no LCD display of time or station.
Any ideas. Just bad luck? Shawn |

I came across a thread where there might be a back light for the radio display. Is that also true for my radio (2003 Pontiac Grand Prix)? If yes, is it something that can be easily fixed (the back light). Mine always is dimmed out, come on, dims out, disappears, etc.

I got it to the point where I had access to the bulb. However, I broke the bulb in trying to remove it. How do I get the bulb out?

Thanks for the help. The pictures helped quite a bit. I went with the LED instead of the bulb so not to worry about replacing it again.
Only issue with the LED is there are dark sides to the display even with a wide angle LED as the light is less on the left and right side. In the middle where the light is being pointed its very bright. I pulled it out to get the best light possible. I used a 5mm Red Wide-Angle LED. I'm just curious if its possible to add two LEDs for the light. Anyone know. |

Re: LCD Radio Display Still Not Working
i ended up using the little bulbs for mine from radio shack, but i did put in 2 bulbs instead of just one to brighten it up a bit and to have the light even on both sides, so yeah it is possible to do that, i just soddered both bulbs together. still works fine to this day, glad i could help
