flashing parking brake light

does any one know what could cause my parking brake light {not check engine soon light} to come on and flash while im driving? My brakes feel fine and the brake fluid is full. should i go ahead and have the brakes done anyway.any help or suggestions would be appreciated. its an 89 chevy pickup

have you tried pulling the park pedal up by hand? possible wornout return spring.

If the light is flashing it is flashing a trouble code for the brake system. These trucks did have "abs" but only rear wheel abs. It may be a problem with that. Although I don't know how to tell you to go about fixing it!

my truck does the same thing. im gonna hook a computer up to it tomorrow at work and run the codes so ill let you know what i find.
