New System Questions

Hopefully someone knows more about the stereo system set-up than I do cuz i have a few questions. Im looking to upgrade the system in the car by replacing all of the speakers, amp, and the subs. I am planning on getting all Rockford Fosgate 6-1/2" 2-Way 120W, with 2 3/4 inch tweeters attached for the fronts, 6-1/2" 2-Way 150W for the mids, 6" x 9" 2-Way Coaxial's for the rears, 600W Class AB Bridgeable 2-Channel Tri-Mode Amplifier, 2 8" 150W 4-ohm Punch Stage 1 subs, for around $800 installed. Is this a good system? is this a good deal?

sounds ok (no pun intended). I just put in component power series in the doors and rear seats, plus a 500 rockford amp for 1500 installed. I didn't replace the hatch speakers on the advice of my car audio place. My set up does need more base, so this spring i'll add a 10 or 12 in sub in a hideable box in the back opposite the spare cover. Nothing too crazy as im not a audio nut and don't want a million extra pounds of crap in the car causing me to loose a race to some rice.

haha, losing to rice isnt a problem...if they're rice, they're slow as fuck...

now if its a fast import... that aint rice!

n anyway, ricers have choke shit on their car too...like their 100lb spoiler? and body kits.. sound systems...18" rims that make em accelerate slower..etc!

There is a difference between a Trans-Am/Corvette with 18" rims and a Honda Civic which comes stock with 13" or 14" rims...

great deal if you ask me. rockford fosgate is a trusted name in audio. and my friend has a pair of punch subs which sound decent. plus 800 installed is a hell of a deal if you ask me.

Re: New System Questions

also, bigger tires make you accelerate slower because of the ratio change on your drive..

it';ll give you a higher top speed, theoretically, but your low end power will drop since the wheel will be bigger and harder to turn one full revoloution...

the wheel size would act as a divider of torque..etc etc..sorry if that expl. was confusing..idk how to explain it better.

Re: New System Questions

Just updated my sound system with 2 - 6 1/2 4 way Pioneer speakers in front and 4 - 6 3/4 4 way Pioneer speakers in the rear with 2 12 inch Pioneer subs in the trunk and a 600 watt Pioneer amp driving them. Had one of the Pioneer din and a half GM head units in before hand. I love it.
