2006 Impala SS - Tech Docs/FOB reciver

Hey all

2 questions I throw out there.. first is anyone know of anyone who has experience in taking apart components in this vehicle for installs.. or any tech docs where I can see the break down of panels etc..

2nd, It seems when I first got the car, the fob range was nice, like 200 feet or so, even felt like more at times.. then recently, it didnt unlock the door (Even with line of sight) unless i was closer than 15 feet... now its back to going at a full range again.. any ideas what would make it go down to a max operating distance of 15' then back up to 200". I ruled out interference because it was 15' or less for a couple days, and now its back to full.

I am having the exact same issue except it only worked from a distance for about one week and now you have to practically touch the car. Looks kind of stupid running out of the house 5 feet away from a car to use the remote start. Another five feet and I am the remote start. The other issue is the temperature guage reads about 40 degrees higher then the real temp when the car is started so it turns on the air conditioner when it is 30 degrees out instead of the heat. Another typical piece of junk, in my opinion, from GM. One of the main reasons I bought the car was because of the factory remote start. This is probably going to be a typical issue for this option from GM with no resolution. I know when I take it in they will say it worked for them. I tried to buy the shop manuals off Helm to see where the recieving unit is on the car and see if there is an antenna or something but GM hasn't released them yet. I am sure it is just another low price push on suppliers by GM so we live with the junk. Last GM car for me. I had a CTS Cadillac before this and had it in 14 times for an issue they never fixed.

I am sorry, and now it seems my range increased again, now it works 200ft or so away. It must be some condition that causes it, and it could be temperature related. I won't know till it comes to Summer day again to test it (I am in NYC).. but now my range is 150+ feet, even up to 200, and around corners and buildings through walls, etc.. yet a week previous, i had to walk right up to it for it to work... I wish I can find out the conditions causing this...
