Final Fantasy: Advent Children

Who's seen it? Who liked it?

I have never played FFVII all the way through....so I was a little lost but I still enjoyed the movie.

when the American version comes out, I'll get it...definately.

This is leaps and bounds above FF: The spirits within (story and graphics wise). Spirits within was a good movie but it wasn't final fantasy...not in the slightest...but this thread is about Advent Children.

I was hanging on the edge of my seat watching when Sephiroth came back. I too haven't finished the game and people yell at me for being lazy

Advent Children was great, but at certain times of the film, it seems too much for kids, especially when every character keeps tossing Cloud higher through the air...just strange.

I'll say they did everything they could with the ff7 franchise in advent children but there's limits to everything.

Look up FF7: Last Order, the ova with the character Zack(which I bet you got to the part of the game where cloud tells the story through flashback, you know the time when he meets tifa at his hometown? The anime leads us to believe, cloud is one BADASS MOTHER F--you get the idea. Excellent Art, voice acting and animation. Watch it, you won't be dissapointed.

I really liked Spirits Within, myself. It had that whole "quite screwing with the earth before we damage it beyond recovery" kind of message, and they did work in some FF elements. I think the reason I liked it so much, and a lot of FF fanboys didn't, is because I went into the movie not caring at all about Sephiroth or Cloud or Tifa or any other FFVII character -- I took it for the movie it was. Perhaps it's because I never really got into the Final Fantasy series (nor for the most part any Square/Enix games at all.) Now a movie based on Shenmue? THAT I would be all over.

Those are the exact same reasons I liked Spirits Within. It was a good movie...it was a terrible final fantasy movie. The tech was FFish (except the lack of swords) but there was nothing else....no moogles, and only two chocobo sightings...

Ive only seen Advent Children without the subs.. and i'd say the fighting scenes are pretty good, I liked only the Bahamut and Sephiroth vs cloud the best because well they were the ones that were really played out. I didnt like that part where they kept throwing cloud in the air though, I mean yeah its cool and yah its fake but c'mon man. just jump high enough and get it over with.

actually, I don't know. it was my friends subtitles. I suppose a google search for "Final Fantasy Advent Children Joke Subtitles" would be in order. Look for references to "taffy" "knitting" and "DIRGE OF CERBERUS!" and you've found the right one.

You can download the japanese version and then download the subtitles (illegal)
You can import the video from Japan and learn Japanese
