Here's one I finished in the late 80's when the kit debuted; it sat on display gathering dust and nicotine stains
. Was put in a box when I moved in '95, and I recently took it out of storage and decided to clean it up. Paint was good (clearcoated Model Master French Blue), but needed a thorough cleaning. I took out the glass, removed all the exterior chrome, buffed it up, fixed/replaced some window trim, and refinished the headlight buckets w/Alclad II. I redid the front turn signals/vents to better match internet photos (that I didn't have when I built the model). Here's the before: Here's the after. Somewhat improved, a few better details, and I'm now inspired to build one of the IROC '74 RSR's. This is certainly not up to my building standards today, but it still looks decent.

the model looked good before i thought but that polishing really made a big difference, looks great. i should do the same to some of my older models also.

Quote:
I wondered how long it would take for someone to notice that tag It came from a parts kit (another Fujimi EM) since the rear tag was missing when I restored it. I saw "S-EX-69yadayada" and immediately decided to use 'em Tires on all these pre-80's 911 kits seem thick and chunky. Great for pico de gallo, not so great for what's supposed to be the "greatest series of model cars evar!!". Just one look at the Tamiya 911 Turbo's rims and I wanna cry...they're so much better than these. Later model 911 EM's seem to have better wheel/tire combos.
