Angry 2003 requiring new valves and cam shaft

I have a 2003 Grand Cherokee that is currently in the shop receiving new valves and a cam shaft. This vehicle only has 36,000 miles on it, has never towed anything or been taken off roading. The oil has been changed religiously at least every 3500 miles. Has anyone else experienced this and do you have any suggestions on getting Chrysler to stand behind what is obviously a factory defect motor.
