shifting
When I shift into fourth gear it pops out. why dose this happen.

I found that one of my cables are loose could this be the prob.(stupid question I know if I tighten it up I can find out but if not it saves me time which I have little of.)

yes that could be it, witch one is it the cable closes to the engine or farthest from, i believe second gear dosent move the cable the closest from the engine but dont quote me on it, have a friend shift your car (while off) and see if the loose calble moves or not
if your 2nd gear pops out your 4th gear and reverse should be a little scetchy too if thats the problem

I only pop out of gear when I try to take off and the car was just started lol, so I don't do it. But I do have one problem with shiftin. It's a pain in the a$$ to get my Celica in reverse sometimes. I mean I go to put it in gear, and I can't pull it in lol, so I'll shift through the H-pattern or just into first and back into reverse or something, sometimes I get it in there that quick, sometimes it takes longer. However, I can shift it into reverse while the car is off, of course. I fight to get that dang thing in reverse while the car is on sometimes, anyone know what might be causing this?
