97 CRV - Possible CV Joint Problem

Hi guys.

My 97 CRV is having bit of a problem. Sometimes I think I'm nuts but I swear the car rocks side to side at slow speeds and I definitely hear a pulsing squeak coming from the left front wheel area. It gets much louder when I brake but I'm starting to hear it without braking.

I'm assuming this is a CV joint Problem?

If so, any idea of an approximate cost to fix?

Thanks guys.

Re: 97 CRV - Possible CV Joint Problem

do it yourself for around $120.

as for the price for a shop to do it. just find the best deal you can get. shop around. it is easy to change out.

I would think this is a brake rotor or brake caliper problem, since you do feel it in the brake pedal. But I could be wrong.
CV joints usually make a clicking noise (and sometimes a pulsing bounce in extreme conditions) while turning in the direction of the bad CV joint.

I would like to hear the outcome of this though.
