Help with 86' Thunderbird

I have an 86' Thunderbird, and I put a new battery in. After I put the new battery in my fuel gauge always reads empty. Can anyone help me fix this, any help would really be appreciated.

Is the problem only with the gas guage or are all guages affected (reading high or low)?
