I need help: 1979 Pontiac Trans Am 5 tone gold decals

Hello - I am trying to build a replica of my friend's trans am for his Christmas present this year. He has a decal on his car that I'm having trouble matching but I think it's the 1979 version. Anyone out there have a picture of the decal or the 1979 decal that can be scanned? This is the last piece I need for what I think is the perfect present. Thanks in advance!

Here is a pic of the bird on the `79 Trans Ams:

As far as I know, no kits recently have been produced with this decal. The `77 and`78 Trans Am decal is different. Is your model 1/24 scale?

AMT reissued the old MPC 79 Bird a couple years ago, I wish AMT would reissue the 1/16 79 Firebird soon

Yeah, that 1/16 kit is a good one....working lights, opening doors....I remember seeing that on the shelves when it was everywhere in the early 80`s. If I only knew.

Here is the one I am just dying to see released again:

edit: for those of you who get the dreaded "red X" above, here is the picture:

Not sure if it's the same one you guys are talking about or not, but I've got this one sitting in the basement...

(not my auction, just found it as an example)

My dad found it at a garage sale for cheap $. Lucky find....

The pic. I should've included this...

Thanks for all the responses. I couldn't figure out how to include the picture the first time - but here is the best picture i can get of the car. Does this help at all? Like I said - any picture of this would be great.

Also - I got the body from HPIracing.com - it's 200mm

It's the 1979 decal right?

Wow! Nice ride! That looks just a little different than the 79 decal. It is actually the first time I have seen that. Maybe try posting on an f-body message board and see if they have seen it before? Are you going to make your own decal with the picture?

Such craziness on Ebay. That kit is worth some money, but $100? You can almost get the 1/8 scale revell kit for that much.

Renegade,

I'll scan the decal that's in the kit I have (posted above). Not sure if it's exact or not, but I can scan it an then leave it up to you to compare it to your buddies ride.

Don't expect the scan until later today/tonight.

Murray

Thanks again for all the responses. Yes, I am going to make my own decal - That's the easy part. Finding the match has been the challenge.
