Re: Opera lights

Thats the very first time I've ever seen opera lights on a Caprice before. I've always wanted them, but I also have had no luck finding them either. I'll give eBay a shot.

Re: Opera lights

You can get the opera lights for an Olds Delta 88 or 98 Regency (the full-size RWD one) or any of the Buick B-body (Electra, etc) for the same year range - these will fit your Caprice. I concur with blownalcoholboy that your car is quite the ride. I saw one of those back at the '87 Phoenix Auto Show and that's when I fell in love with the Caprice. Yours is identical to that one I saw back in '88, including the color. Nice LS.

i just had one identical to yours, LS brougham classic, 88, i dont like the vinyl top look of these, too bulky,
so i sold it for 500 just to get rid of it, after having it for a couple months,
it ran strong and was pretty clean,
i was gonna buy a mint shape 84 caprice with 70k miles on it for 700 but i couldnt come up with all the $
i found my 84 impala for 500 so thatll work for now

my opera lights didnt work either, its rare to see any that work after this old,

say youve never seen operas on a caprice ?
wow you live under a rock or something :P

you can install 12v LED strip in it

they are cheap and will work good, plus you can have any color you want in it

search yards for the chrome piece, theyre around

good luck

Re: Opera lights

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have an '89 Caprice Brougham LS Classic with opera lights. The left one is out and I'm wondering how to get it off to change it. I'm usually really good at ripping something off and breaking it, and with the difficulty in getting these, I'd like to be careful. The white background of the right one is cracked and faded since it's the one that got all the sun before the car was garaged, but the light still works. Anyway, does anyone know how to get at the bulbs to change them out.

Thanks

Re: Opera lights

HI
I have a 1988 delta 88 with the opera lights and they are both not working
THey use a fiber optic setup and I tryed to trace the wire back to were the bulb is but i lose the wire in a harness it is a white wire and both sides come to the front of the car and soemwhere between the post and the dash it enters into a large harmess were there are 4 white wires I got frustrated trying to see were they go without ripping car apart
Can anyone tell me where the bulb is located for these lights
I also have the fiber optic for the ring around the key lock on the door and both these were burnt out as well I found these in the door panel by the electric windows
The car has 230,000 miles on it and good for many more I hope except the rust is taking hold
thanks
Ray
