banging in the front

I have a 1998 Bonneville SE. I hit a pot hole and now i have a bad banging noise in the front driver side it sounds like the strut but not sure. My focus made the same noise and it turned out to be the control arm. My 1998 Montana has the same noise. Is it the control arm or something else?

Could be a broken sway bar rather than the control arm but I would check both. It seems like you have a bad track record with control arms and potholes.
