1995 ford contour want start

Installed amp and wire shorted out now it will start after you keep cranking for a long time when it does start running it runs like crap

What shorted out? The amp power wire to ground, or the remote turn on wire to ground? Where did you tap into to get either the power or remote turn on? If you didn't get the power straight from the battery, check the circuit that you tied into.
