98 GA rough idle
Well its another day in Grand Am Heaven. The wifes car needed a new wiring harness going to the fuel pump but thats not todays problem. My stepdaughter's GA is a 98 not sure of engine size-- that just started idling rough with a check engine light on. I know I need the code read and hear that Auto Zone reads them for free . Is this true ?? I don't know what it is with theses GA's but in the last 2 months both the 2000 V6 and the daughters are causing me a major drain on my time and bank account. Thank God for this board !!!!!!

Re: 98 GA rough idle
Yes autozone does scan for free, so does advance auto. if its a misfire code, probley dirty injectors. Could be a vacum leak on the multitude of hoses under the hood. GA's seem to be good about draining you pockets and patients. lol

Re: 98 GA rough idle
Like XI said, deffinately get the codes read. Some other possibilities ontop of what he said could also include bad coil packs or bad ignition wires or spark plugs. Any of those would also cause misfiring.
