dude from shop called me today and said the rad didnt stop van from overheating so he thinks it has a cracked block "from being driven while overheating too much". well, 4 xs he told me to come get it cuz it was fixed and every time it still would overheat and id have to bring it back he said twice that it wasnt really overheating but the gage said it was due to electric error. was overheating whole time and he did nothing but replace 2 thermostats. wants 2180.00 to replce engine with used one and thats after giving me a "discount" cuz he feels bad! i dont know what to do but pray and cry. i have no $ i spent it all on intake manifold. any advise??

im not sure where you live but in Canada the ministry of consumer affairs would be a good place to start. Option two is to get the biggest meanest looking man you know to take all your bills in and get the manager and mechanic together and ask what is going on here. If you are in Ontario, I know a guy named BUBBA who would gladly do it.

I feel for you ramseysgirl. I know what it's like to be stuck with a van that everything just seems to go against you. It's bad enough just having it not work, let alone having to pay to get it fixed.

I honestly think that you should find a different mechanic or shop. The one that you have been dealing with is obviously just guessing at what is wrong. Is this a GM dealer or a independent shop?

I would be VERY suprised if it was a cracked block knowing the history of other problems with this model of vehicle.
