i don't think we should say farewell...i think we should welcome a new dsm'er into the devilish lifestyle of car modding.

Sorry guys. I really dont want to sell but I'm going to be moving very soon and won't have much time/money for my pride and joy anymore. I don't want to sell trust me, especially since I'm almost done with the 97-99 conversion. I really only put it on ebay to make it known that my car is for sale, not to actually sell it on that site. I found a way to finance an 05 SRT4 for about $245 a month for 6 years. But just know that once I get everything sorted out this will not be my last DSM!! My goal is to oneday build up a 1g. I just need to move on for now...I'll still be around on this site though. And maybe some DSM inspiration will find it's way on to my SRT(ie EVO III 16g ) lol

ive rode in it numerous times, its in great shape and drives very well. fast and 290 ish hp is a good estimate. Car is clean and very well done. hes a reasponsible owner and never abuses it and takes care of it very well.

Re: Farewell to another DSM :(

i didn't realize that was your car endlessheart666....as the topic says, farewell (for now anyways, hopefully). we'll be awaiting to hear when you purchase that next dsm. for some reason, i bet it won't be too long. driving a dsm is like smoking...it's hard as hell to quit (even if it's for awhile) and usually only a few people can actually pull the stunt off.

you see right, they are indeed quick cars, but i'd still never buy one. it just resembles a neon too much. i know it's not one, but when you ride in them, it feels like your riding in a neon and that just creeps me out.

Re: Farewell to another DSM :(

Hold on, my friends dad was a speed freak and had a SRT-4. The first few months that he had it it was a nighmare for him. Steering pump or whatever broke, brakes malfunctioned. Turbo was replaced by dealer since car was choking. They told him that he was reving the car to much and thats why , but he did exactly the opposite. He never raced and kept it like a baby and the car kept braking. A few moths ago I went to see him and he was like "Man its good that everything was replaced under warranty BUT when warranty expires I am screwed so he returned it. He bought a 2003 Accord V6 and never had any problems with it. Also SRT-4 are IDENTICAL to neons on the inside. The CD player is also in the Viper SRT-10. Thats why I dont like Dodge since they use the same stuff on other models. Thats why SRT-4 is cheap, because most of the parts are from a neon and its cheaper to produce. The seats suck and I dont want to even talk about the shift knob and gear box, it feels like driving a truck. I drove and SRT-4 and I hated it. Hell I got burned by an Escalade. I prefer the turbo Golf or a old M3 but since you have made your mind on a SRT-4 good luck . I hope yours holds together and doesnt coast you a fortune to maintain. Also that finance is not bad at all. $260 a month for a 2005 SRT4.

Good luck

Re: Farewell to another DSM :(

the interior is not the smae as a NEON, i would know my sister drives NEON. Ive been in a coule srts and thought they felt rather nice. ive also been on srtforums for around a year and a half and have only heard of one srt with serious problems, and i beleive it was because the owner was a dumb shit.
its not gonna last much longer so if you guys are interested you should probally make an offer

I hope you're right Adam(breckboarder55) because the Eclipse is being sold tomorrow and Saturday morning I'm going to be purchasing the show-room model SRT4(Burnt Orange). The one I found is on Northside with a sunroof and that upgraded sound system. And my monthly payment is only about $215. I will post pictures after I purchase her

Re: Farewell to another DSM :(

Actually the new Neons and the SRT4's have basically the same interior. The only difference I noticed in the one I rode in was the boost guage.
