Unhappy oil leak

i am haveing alot of trouble getting the oilfilter base off my 98 cherokee anyone have any good advice?

Are you referring to the oil filter itself or the adapter that mounts to the crankcase?

If the oil filter, they make "wrenches" that fit the top of the oil filter to give you extra leverage to remove them. Too many times, they are screwed on way too tight.

If the adapter, you'll need a 6 point socket and lot's of leverage. Mine was a real pita to remove it to change the o-rings.
