|
Starts, but dies when its put in gear
Its a 98 taurus with the 3.0 v6. it started fine yesterday, then after i cleaned the snow off, i got in and put it in reverse and it stalled. tryed it twice more and the same thing happened. any Ideas

either something like the distrubtor got wet ( not likely since it does run), or
Ill bet you got snow/water into the air intake and when the enginee needed more air it was starved. Try opening the air filter box and running it - it that doesnt do it ..... it is possible that cold air temperaute triggered a problem in the Mass air flow sensor- tht can be pulled on a engine code at your nearest autozone/ checker/ chain store parking lot--- for free. |
