Fuel Gauge out of Wack??????
I just bought a 96 SL2 with a bad engine and replaced it with an engine out of a 97 SL2. I notice that when i drive it the fuel gauge seems to be droping really fast. I filled it for the first time at a 1/4 tank and it only took in about 6.5 gallons to fll it. Now it's back down to 1/4 and I only traveled about 220 miles.
How many miles should I exspect to get out of a tank of gas? What is the exspected fuel economy for this car? |

well gms and fuel pumps/modules arent the greatest lasting things. i just live with mine even though its new. i can drive mine down to E and still have 2.5 gallons left. i normally always fill mine up with 10 gallons and i usually always see at least 35mpg. if i drive practically all highway miles then i at the least see 38 but i have been known to get 45 a few times. i guess it depends on the transmission really. i drive a standard so thats why mine are so high and i have mine tuned very well because i have tested many products to find the best. oh yeah and i can beat the crap out of my car and still get those high numbers on highway. my car is modified with bolt ons too so my gas mileage is increased too.
my car can have 1/4 tank with 230 or 290+ and still i will come up with the same gas mileage. |
