96 plymouth neon engine swap

I am thinking about putting a 3.4 liter (i think)mopar engine in my 96 plymouth neon i was wondering if anyone has done it and if i would need a new transmission or any other modifications im fairly sure it will drop in just like the originial motor acording to the guy im getting it from it's an automatic transmission

That engine is way too big for the neon engine bay. Unless you are willing to spend a bunch of money on doing the swap, it won't be worth it. Some people have a V8 engine in a neon, but the cost was outrageous. Everything in the engine bay had to be redone, not to mention a custom hood.

Re: 96 plymouth neon engine swap

Mopar does not have a 3.4.
You can put a 2.4l engine in it. You can leave it stock or turbo it. There is a link http://www.fwdmopar.com/sites/dennis/pl24swaps.html
