well i let the truck sit for two days and it started right up. I let it run for awhile. then shut it off. later on when i went to the store as soon as i started it up it made a loud bang but seems to run fine. Does anyone think I need to take it in for some dianostics. thank you.

Got a catalytic converter on it? I bet you it's plugging up.

I have a similar problem with my 96 pickup. It will turn over just fine, but won't fire. After I let off the starter, it will fire a couple of times on one cylinder. Had it brought to a garage, started with no problem, they could not duplicate, although they did pull the plugs and thought it was running a bit rich. I drove the truck home Friday and let it sit the weekend. Monday, no start again. The garage came and it wouldn't start for them either. They put a gauge on it and said it had 60+PSI fuel pressure. They dragged it back to the shop and tinkered with it for a while. The next day it started just fine! I'm at a loss, they are at a loss, and my truck is unreliable. Any thoughts?
